Tullamore Dew Trilogy. Image courtesy Tullamore Dew/William Grant & Sons. This 15-year-old Irish whiskey is a blend of traditional column-distilled grain whiskey, single pot still, and single malt, and is based on Tullamore Dew’s 12-year-old blend with three additional years of maturation and finishing in Rum casks from Trinidad.

The nose has a good balance of raisins, molasses, mango, orange peel, coconut, and soft spices. The taste is thick, dry, and mouth-coating with great spicy notes of white pepper and clove, along with orange peel, raisin, and molasses notes that come out as the spices start to fade. The finish is subtly spicy and aromatic with a hint of red licorice, anise, molasses, and raisins. (September, 2015)
