The New Zealand Whisky Collection 25 Year Old Single Malt. Image courtesy The New Zealand Whisky Company. This whisky was distilled at the now-closed Seagram’s Dunedin distillery in New Zealand, and matured in ex-Bourbon casks from what was then the Seagram’s-owned Four Roses Distillery.

The nose has tropical fruit notes of mango and passion fruit balanced well by a good oakiness, muted spices, butterscotch, and a subtle spiciness. The taste is rich and thick with a good cinnamon spiciness on top of honey, butterscotch, a nice maltiness, and a touch of clove that comes out with time. The finish is dry with muted notes of malt, butterscotch, clove, and cinnamon that linger nicely. Excellent! (October, 2014)
