The Dalmore 25. Image courtesy Whyte & Mackay. This travel retail exclusive was created by Master Blender Richard Paterson, who used a complex combination of American white oak casks, Palomino Fino Sherry casks, first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels, and Tawny Port pipes from Portugal.

The result has notes of toffee, caramel, figs, honey, and ginger on the nose. The taste is complex with caramel, blood orange peel,, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, figs, and raisin notes…along with hints of licorice and red grapes. The finish has a lingering balance of sweetness and tartness, with a touch of black tea with lemon and honey. Excellent! (November, 2013)
