Rebel Yell Bourbon. Photo ©2015 by Mark Gillespie. One of Bourbon’s legendary brands, with a history that dates back to 1849. This heated Bourbon is distilled by Heaven Hill under contract for St. Louis-based Luxco, which acquired the Rebel Yell brand several years ago.

The nose is smooth with notes of oak, black pepper, a hint of cinnamon, molasses, cocoa, and vanilla. The taste starts off thin and caramel cola-like at first, then comes around with subdued spicy notes of black pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. The finish is thin and short. (August, 2015)
