Parker's Heritage Collection Original Batch Straight Wheat Whiskey. Image courtesy Heaven Hill. This is quite likely the rarest and most unusual of the Parker’s Heritage Collection whiskies so far, and comes from the remaining casks of the original distilling runs in 2000 at Heaven Hill’s Bernheim Distillery in Louisville for what became Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey. The first release of Bernheim Original was in 2005, and this straight wheat whiskey has been matured for 13 years.

The nose is smooth and buttery with notes of fresh bread, mild spices, soft oak, and a hint of straw. The taste is warm and spicy with notes of cinnamon, shortbread cookies, and hints of ginger, clove, and honey. The finish is smooth, long and dry with fading spices. Outstanding, and given that wheat whiskies are seldom matured for this long, extremely rare. (September, 2014)
