Locke’s 8

Country: Ireland

Region:

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 40%

Score: 87 Points

Ireland’s Kilbeggan Distillery was originally the home of Locke’s Irish Whiskey for generations, and Cooley revived both the distillery and the Locke’s name over time.

This 8-year-old Irish single malt has a clean and malty nose with honey and hints of allspice and oak. The taste has a good complex bite of black pepper with honey and brown sugar notes, allspice, a hint of cinnamon, and a slight lemon peel tartness. The finish is long and lingering with a good mix of spices, honey, and a touch of tartness. (October, 2013)
