The nose has a good peatiness with heather and tar, along with hints of seaweed, and has more of a “classic” Islay aroma than many of Kilchoman’s younger bottlings. The taste has a great smoky peatiness, hints of basil and thyme, honey, a good maltiness, and touches of vanilla. The finish is long and smoky on what may be Kilchoman’s best release so far.
