Jameson Select Reserve

Country: Ireland

Region:

Type: Irish Whiskey

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 40%

Score: 89 Points

Jameson Special Reserve. Image courtesy Irish Distillers. This version of Jameson uses a higher percentage of first-fill ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks than other Jamesons, and it shows. The nose has notes of melons, cocoa beans, butterscotch, vanilla, honey, and a hint of charred oak. The taste is very fruity with green apples, pears, and fresh berries. White pepper adds a touch of spice, and notes of butterscotch, honey, and vanilla underneath bring it all together. The finish is long and fruity with underlying pepperiness. Very nice.  (March, 2014)
