Glenfarclas 1988. Photo © 2013 by Mark Gillespie. This expression was bottled in 2000 for the German market from a first-fill Oloroso Sherry cask, and the nose has sherry notes with dried fruits, grapefruit, old leather, and a touch of molasses. The taste starts off sweet and creamy, then a peppery spice builds up quickly, followed by fruity notes of orange peel, grapefruit, and mango. The finish is fruity and lingering. (April, 2013)
