The nose has — as you might expect — a strong peatiness, ash, and hints of vanilla and oak underneath. The taste is intense, smoky, medicinal, and ashy with blast furnace-level smokiness that fades slowly to reveal citrusy notes of grapefruit and lemon, along with oak and vanilla. The finish is short with the same citrusy notes of grapefruit and lemon, along with a lingering soft smokiness. Outstanding! (June, 2015)
