Benromach 15 Years Old Speyside Single Malt. Image courtesy Benromach/Gordon & MacPhail. This Speyside single malt has a fruity and very shared nose with notes of figs, dates, orange marmalade, a hint of coconut, vanilla, allspice, and roasted almonds with just a hint of smoke in the way Speyside malts were made decades ago before natural gas replaced peat in the malt kilns.

The taste is thick, fruity, and spice with orange marmalade and ginger notes dominating, but not overwhelming notes of allspice, figs, dates, plums, and dark chocolate in the background for a very well-balanced palate. The finish is long, fruity, and vibrant with lingering notes of orange marmalade, ginger, vanilla, honey, and a touch of smokiness. Excellent! (July, 2015)
