Armorik Classic 2013 Version

Country: France

Region:

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 46%

Score: 91 Points

Armorik Classic. Image courtesy Distillerie Warenghem. Armorik Classic was available in a 40% ABV version for several years, but Distillerie Warenghem in France’s Breton region decided to give it a boost in 2013 by raising the strength to 46%. The difference is noticeable, and welcome.

The nose is orchard-esque with peaches, pears, and red apples, toasted oak, hints, and a hint of figs. The taste is fruity and fresh with peaches, apples, pears, hints of coconut and vanilla, while allspice and honey add a good balance. The finish is long, fruity, and smooth with a subtle tartness. Very nice! (June, 2014)
