Adelphi Longmorn 23 Single Cask #48512. Image courtesy Adelphi. This American Oak ex-Sherry hogshead was filled in 1992, and only produced 255 bottles 23 years later in 2015. The nose has notes of plums, prunes, toffee, caramel, hot fudge, dark chocolate, and muted spices with no overt oakiness. The taste is thick and rich with a spicy buildup of clove, ginger root, and nutmeg, balanced by honey, vanilla, plums, raisins, and touches of fudge and toffee underneath. The finish is very long with gently fading spices and touches of honey and toffee in the background. Very nice! (January, 2016)
